Welcome to my first post here on Level Up M365!
A little about me
To start, my name is Joe Cole. I am a Microsoft Certified Professional/Microsoft 365 Enterprise Admin Expert, a grad of Western Governors University and I hold a plethora of other IT certificates (mostly Microsoft related). I dabble in software development, and love to create apps on the M365 Power Platform.
My family is located in central Indiana (Indianapolis area) and as one can safely assume, they play a huge role occupying my time when I am not in the technology world.
My hobbies include the typical jock stuff, researching everything tech, following new discoveries in AI ethics, and figuring out how to refurbish/hack/reuse old hardware to prolong its life.
In my 9-5 job I have the blessing of making the Microsoft 365 suite add value to my end user base of 10,000+ folks in a large, complex non-profit environment. I wear many hats in this role. They range from Architect to help desk associate, trainer, and all in between. Working with end users and C-Level executives gives me a broad view of diverse workflows. And for better or worse, I get to feel the pain of the decisions made. I get to stick around after vendors/consultants leave and figure out how to make the large IT investments work.
A little about this site
In the field, I have to repeat myself when attempting to demystify the new apps. Also, the constant flow of updates that follow a Microsoft 365 license always cause consternation. This site is a place where I can help! Not only that, I have been taking knowledge from many support communities for years and I would like to contribute.
That being said, I am going to talk about the primary apps on the Microsoft 365 platform such as SharePoint, the low-code Power Platform, Microsoft Teams, and some of the popular business apps like Planner and OneNote. There might be a time where I chat about the complimentary apps Microsoft offers like Dynamics 365 and Azure stuff, which fall out of the traditional license structure. But as a solution architect/techie, I cannot ignore all options simply because they might require an additional cost. You know the term, “penny wise, pound foolish.”
I am taking requests for topics to chat about, more on how to contact me below. But most of what I post will be scratching my own itch in these initial phases. I would also LOVE for folks to pick my solutions apart and tell me how I can make them better, or how they helped solve your particular issue.
