So the Microsoft build 2025 event has come and gone. And with much excitement, I am very happy/anxious at the same time hearing about the load of news. Firstly, if you are not a techie this show is mostly not for you, but I will sum it up into plain english. Now on to my opinion, Microsoft is superb at building tools for developers. Full disclaimer, I build verticals, or SharePoint apps so I am very much their target audience. But my customers are not techies. So my job as a consultant is to take the awesome Microsoft tools and convert them into intuitive solutions for my end users. As I gain more experience and the platforms I leverage mature, I am able to produce more value for all. That being said, I really like the direction Microsoft is taking this year with their agents and making a platform out of them. We can dig into the weeds on what this means in future posts. But in short, it means Microsoft is committed to giving us more control with how we tweak the AI bots and background automations. I like that! You are still the primary pilot. Microsoft Build 2025 introduced over 50 announcements aimed at accelerating AI-driven development. Highlights include:

  • Microsoft 365 Copilot Tuning: Enterprises can train Copilot with internal knowledge for domain-specific tasks.
  • Advanced AI Agents: Microsoft 365 and Teams now support multi-agent workflows, enabling smarter collaboration.
  • Azure AI Foundry Updates: New AI models, including Grok 3 and Sora, are available, along with multi-agent orchestration for enterprise applications.
  • Copilot Studio Enhancements: Developers can now create task-specific AI agents with expanded customization options.
  • Security & Compliance: Microsoft Purview now provides enterprise-grade security controls for AI applications.
  • Edge Innovations: New AI-powered tools, including PDF translation, on-device AI APIs, and agent-powered web apps.
  • Windows AI Foundry: A unified local AI platform for Windows, supporting on-device model deployment.
  • Developer Productivity: Enhancements to GitHub Copilot, Power Automate, and new AI-powered development tools.
  • Quantum Security Measures: Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) integration for Windows and Linux to future-proof encryption.
