Site updates spring 2026

Hey All,

It’s been a while since I’ve posted an update, so here’s where things stand. When I started this site four years ago, my world revolved around SharePoint, enough that I tattooed the logo on my right bicep to complement my farmer’s tan. That part hasn’t changed (I still have the farmers tan). What has changed is the scope of my work.

I’m still deeply connected to SharePoint and the M365 platform, but the demands of 2026 have pushed me into new areas: Agents, Copilot (Free vs Premium), Purview, Azure infrastructure, VDI, and more. My role has expanded, and my content is going to expand with it.

Going forward

I’ll still cover SharePoint and the M365 apps I love, but I’ll also be writing about the broader ecosystem: how these tools support apps, improve governance, reduce friction, and increase ROI. I’m especially interested in persona‑based solutions that help real people get work done more easily, whether they’re field workers or information workers.

I’m also chasing the deeper questions that keep my Copilot chat history full:

  • Can SharePoint Embedded be a great SaaS backend?
  • When should you choose Power Apps over custom SPFx?
  • Could a simple MS Form + SharePoint list drive VDI provisioning?
  • If Purview encryption breaks third‑party integrations, what does a single source of truth look like, where all 3rd party systems reference SharePoint?
  • Can an Agent in Teams meaningfully reduce help desk traffic?

These are the rabbit holes I’m exploring, and my content will reflect that journey.

Thanks for reading along the way. And remember, you can filter content by an app on the right side of the page, or use the keyword search if you’re looking for something you heard on the podcast. I have AI transcribe most of the episode content and it’s darn good for free!
